Cleveland’s Patio Season Heats Up

by Renee on June 9, 2011

The summer solstice is June 21st, but it’s now past Memorial Day on the calendar, and the temperatures on the North Coast have already climbed into the 90s–an unofficial start to summer.

This means it’s patio season in Cleveland–my favorite time of the year.

Tired of being locked indoors by a very snowy winter and a record-rainy spring, folks in Northeast Ohio are literally coming out of the woodwork to enjoy the many patios at restaurants and bars across the region. It seems nearly every venue’s got one.

Personally, I’m most especially looking forward to the opening of the Market Garden Brewery & Distillery beer garden; the Winking Lizard’s new Independence location; and time at the Burntwood Tavern patio later this month with some fellow Cleveland craft beer lovers. Tonight is the official opening of the Greenhouse Tavern rooftop patio–and I’ll be stopping by for a bird’s eye view of East 4th Street and a nice, cold adult beverage. There are so many great patios across the 216 and in the ‘burbs–which one is your favorite?

In Brunswick, I love The Grille’s patio. 🙂 This Greenhouse Tavern sounds some kind of amazing. I may have to check that out.

Gordon Square District has several nice ones I like: Luxe, Stone Mad and Reddstone. Edison’s in Tremont is probably my favorite in that area (although there are many others too).

I love almost any patio, but D’Vine is one of my downtown favorites and anything on Professor in Tremont or the streets of Ohio City make me happy! I’m looking forward to enjoying cocktails and dinner on Washington Place Bistro’s tonight.

first Saturday of the month you can’t beat the patio of Parnell’s simply for the people watching as they go to Rocky Horror Picture show.

My favorite is the Treehouse patio. I cannot wait to check out Greenhouse and Market Garden too.
