Cleveland Beer Week Eve!

by Renee on October 13, 2011

T’was the night before Beer Week, and all through Cleve-land/craft brew lovers were thirsty/and parties were planned.

Well, you get the idea! Cleveland’s 2011 Beer Week is going to be a sudsy celebration of epic proportion, with hundreds of great craft beer events going on from Friday, October 14th and culminating Saturday, October 22nd with Brewzilla at the Galleria.

Like other local beer bloggers, I’ve made my picks for the events I’ll be attending over the course of those nine glorious days and nights. The big ones include flagship events Grains v. Grapes: the Ultimate Match Up at the Crowne Plaza Friday night; Culture Yourself at the Market Garden Brewery on the 20th; and of course Brewzilla. The rest of my picks I’m going to post on a day-to-day basis–you can look for my tweets and blog posts as the week runs its course. I can tell you you’re likely to run into me at Heinen’s stores for their daily tastings, the Winking Lizard, Lizardville, Lilly’s in Tremont, Melt, Lolita, ABC Tavern, and the Greenhouse Tavern– among other favorite beer meccas in the city. And you may even find me as far flung as some of the great beer spots in the outlying ‘burbs like Parnell’s Pub in Cleveland Heights and Chardon Brew Works on the Square in Geauga County–yes, Cleveland Beer Week is *that* big! If you see me out and about this week, please say hello! I love talking about craft beer as much as I love drinking it.

So, as it’s Beer Week Eve, I’m wondering what St. Arnold will leave in my growler tonight. I’m leaving it on my fireplace hearth for filling. I’ve been good, I promise! Cheers, and Happy Beer Week!

Cleveland beer week is going to be a blast. Hopefully we will meet up at a few events, certainly at Brewzilla. Which Lolita event are you going to hit?

Steve, There is so much to do and drink, and so little time! I will be attending the Dogfish happy hour at Lolita on Wednesday, hope to see you out and about!

So far, we’ve only purchased tickets to Culture Yourself. Looks like we’ll see you there! I’m looking forward to exploring more events and tasting this year. Happy Beer Week!
